Weekend Diversion: For a Young Soul

“Ordinary riches can be stolen; real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” –Oscar Wilde

For those of you who don’t typically listen to soul singers, you may want to have a listen to this. There’s always something about live performances that bring out their best, and so this weekend I present to you,

I Heard Love Is Blind.
To those of you who don’t recognize the voice or the song, I hope you at least recognize the talent and the quality of what you’re listening to.

Because that’s Amy Winehouse. That’s live, off of her debut album, Frank, recorded when she was still a teenager.

She passed away yesterday, and the world is now one amazing voice quieter. If you or anyone you know struggles with internal problems or depression, you are not alone, and there are plenty of people and organizations out there who can help you, if you let them.

The Hopeline is never far away, and the PostSecret project is one of the best projects out there for people struggling with feeling alone and keeping secrets.

There are too many good things in this world, and while we can’t help the ones who are gone, we can help those who are still with us. As always, enjoy the music, and I’ll be back during the week to help share the secrets of the Universe with you!
